Music import workflow
Import MusicXML or MIDI into shamisen tablature
An imported music file is a starting point, not a guaranteed finished shamisen arrangement. Instrument-specific fingering and notation decisions still require review.

Supported starting formats
ShamiTab can import Guitar Pro, MusicXML, compressed MXL, and MIDI files. The source format determines how much track, pitch, duration, and structure information is available.

Review the musical mapping
Check the selected track, tuning, range, position choices, rests, tuplets, repeats, and time signatures. MIDI usually contains less notation detail than MusicXML.
Adapt for the shamisen player
Rewrite impractical positions, confirm idiomatic techniques, choose the intended rhythm style, and make the page readable before treating the import as a finished score.
